The Boston Celtics overcame an eight-point deficit in the final three minutes to come back and defeat the Indiana Pacers 133-128 in overtime in Game 1 of the 2024 Eastern Finals.
Jrue Holiday led the way for the Pacers with 33 points, while Jayson Tatum paced the Celtics with 34 points. The Celtics also got a big contribution from Jaylen Brown, who scored 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
The Pacers led by eight points with just over three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Celtics chipped away at the lead and eventually tied the game with 28.1 seconds left on a three-pointer by Marcus Smart.
In overtime, the Celtics took control of the game and outscored the Pacers 15-7 to earn the win.
The Pacers will look to even the series when they host the Celtics in Game 2 on Friday night.
